PAINTINGS OF RUBBISH 2017-18

The recent paintings are the result of a conversation I had a few years ago with a painter friend:- occasionally, mid-sentence he would stop, point and say- "Oh look! That would make a great painting!" My initial response was- everything you look at would make a great painting- even of ones rubbish bin. So recently that is what I have been painting, street rubbish and latterly my recycle bin. The circular shapes remind me of mandalas. I do believe beauty is totally all around us, and pleasure can be had in odd places.
