PAUL ASHURST

Paul Ashurst lives and works at his house and studio in Camberwell, South London.

Paul Ashurst has shown his paintings`nationally and internationally since the 1980s.

His work since 2008 was based on local parks, both Battersea and Ruskin Parks and domestic themes. In 2010-2011 inspiration had been found closer to home, the rear garden of his house and his sitting room. From 20112-14 he painted Still Lifes based on his cabinet of curiosities. The newer industrial paintings from 2015 are again of local scenery,  more limited and subtle  in their colour palette. 

Colour in the work is very important, mixing fluorescent and interference with conventional colour, by brush and aerosols, Tippex, all kinds of markers and glitter dust all feature in paintings on canvas and drawings on paper.
