2013 Still Lives
In the still life paintings, the inspiration was the objects in a cabinet of curiosities. These range from plastic tat found in Christmas crackers to interesting ethnic pieces and family mementoes. There are also introduced the stalwarts of traditional still lives; fruit, flowers and self-portraits. Scale is also played with, by taking familiar things recognisable as being tiny and supersizing them. They are all mixed media on canvas (Liquitex, fluorescent paints, Tippex, pencils and crayons, felt-tipsand collage)
